Kona Sutra

Our ultra-marathon, ride around the world workhorse doesn't change much for 2011. Why change a beautiful thing? hIrSch has ridden this bike 55,000 miles, which is about 2-1/2 times around the earth, and to keep our ever-wandering cycling muse happy, new for 2011, we add a better handlebar, a laid back seatpost for a more balanced position on the bike, Shimano crankset, WTB Freedom rims. The world is a beautiful place, no?

Jamis Aurora Elite

Road bikes are too light duty. Mountain and city bikes are too heavy duty. Welcome to the Just Right world of Aurora Elite, Aurora and Bosanova, the town bikes for smart urban speedsters and cyclo-tourists.

Legendary Reynolds steel is our chassis material of choice, for its unbeatably robust performance and the resilient ride-damping you’ll appreciate while loaded up and bombing around on the streets. This is magic stuff, especially for full pannier touring and rough-road adventures.

This year’s rides are simply better and lighter—Aurora Elite gets SRAM’s new Apex group, with double-chainring shifting and a huge gear range that’s lighter and faster than a repurposed triple-ring MTB gearset.

Salsa Fargo Complete

The Fargo is our drop-bar, off-road adventure bike.

Despite developing a cult of adoring fans, the Fargo remains a bit of a bicycling anomaly: a disc brake only, drop bar mountain bike designed for off-road touring.

Now suspension-corrected for 80mm travel forks, the Fargo lets the user choose whether to run rigid or with front suspension.

Drop bars provide multiple hand positions for long days on singletrack, path, or roadway. A full compliment of braze-on’s on the frame and fork allow for both front and rear racks and fenders. The investment cast chainstay-mounted disc brake mount is conveniently tucked out of the way, eliminating accessory mounting interference. Load as much or as little gear as you choose for your next adventure.

Five water bottle cage mounts help keep you hydrated on a long journey. The sloped toptube allows plenty of standover clearance for those fully-loaded starts and stops.

The Fargo is designed to take you wherever it is you wish to go. Throw a dart at a map, make some plans, load up your gear, and hit the dirt.

Surley Long Haul Trucker

A touring bike’s job is to go the distance and then some, in relative comfort, while carrying you and your gear. The Long Haul Trucker was designed in all aspects to get you and your stuff to…wherever. Its low bottom bracket and long chainstays provide comfort and stability, and those long stays increase heel clearance when carrying packed panniers. We gave it ample tire clearance for larger tires (larger tires soak up a lot of road static) with room for fenders too. The frame’s tubing is thicker-walled and larger-diameter than standard road and sport-touring frames, and this pre-tunes it for the weight of cargo. And it’s got braze-ons for everything you’re likely to need, from racks to water bottle cages to spare spokes.

Like all our frames, it’s made of cromoly steel. We like steel for a lot of reasons. Foremost among them is the ride quality a well designed steel frame delivers. It doesn’t hurt that steel is relatively inexpensive, or that it is more easily repaired than aluminum, carbon fiber, or titanium. You’ll probably never need to have the frame repaired, but if you do you’re more likely to find someone who can weld steel than someone who can weld ti or aluminum. Repair carbon fiber? Good luck with that.

We offer the LHT as a frameset or as a complete bike. The ‘Trucker is available in a 26” wheel size across the size run, with an option for 700c in 56, 58, 60, and 62cm sizes. Some people prefer the larger diameter 700c, and that’s cool. 26" is a more popular size around the world, however, so you’ll more easily be able to find replacement tubes, tires, and rims should the need arise. Smaller wheels are also stronger than their 700c counterparts, so they’ll stand up better to rough roads and heavy loads.

The LHT complete is set up with quality parts meant for the purpose of this bike. Add racks, fenders, pedals, and bags and then, well… go someplace.

Windsor Tourist

You can do whatever you want with a Windsor Tourist, but if you're anything like the guys at Windsor, you're gonna want to travel unfamiliar blue-line highways on this bicycle. Maybe ride it to your reunion.

Windsor's product engineers designed this bike for comfortable loaded touring. The angles of the butted, cro-moly frame are relaxed for stability, the wheelbase is long, the clearances around the wheels sufficient for fat, sturdy tires and fenders.

The wheels are especially strong, each built with 36, 14-gauge spokes laced into strong, double-wall aluminum rims with comfy riding Kenda Euro Trek long-distance tires on them.

The drivetrain, upgraded this year, is a durable mix of Shimano's smooth shifting road and mountain components. Its a wide-range 27-speed Shimano TiagraSTI/Deore setup, gears for the Smokies (up and down) and the desert southwest. The powerful yet simple, cantilever brakes are upgraded this year too.

Civia Byrant Tiagra and Alfine

Bryant: High-Speed, Hassle-Free Commuting

Designed for mid to long-distance rides, the Bryant is our take on high-speed, low-maintenance commuting. As everyday riders, we wanted a bike that is fast, efficient and ready to roll. We didn’t want to waste precious time messing with a slipping derailleur or lubing a rusty chain. That’s why we crafted the Belt Alfine build around a Gates Carbon Drive belt and Shimano’s Alfine rear hub. Wipe it down once in a while and you’re good to go. The belt provides reliable, maintenance-free performance in all conditions.

The Bryant’s geometry is engineered for a fast, responsive ride even when you load up with panniers, packs and other things. Built with our proprietary split rear dropout, the frame accommodates a traditional derailleur drivetrain or belt drive. No matter which build you choose, the Bryant delivers performance you can count on and will leave you counting the hours till you ride again

Salsa Vaya Complete

The Vaya is our road adventure bike, designed to take on any surface that someone might consider a ‘road’.

Crafted of Salsa Classico CroMoly, the Vaya is loaded with braze-on’s for fenders, racks, and lowriders. This makes everything from wet weather commutes to full-on touring a breeze.

Stable geometry keeps the bike from being twitchy, and makes the bike a pleasure to ride while loaded. Our two smallest Vaya sizes use 26” wheels to provide better fit, improved standover clearance, and to eliminate toe overlap. The larger Vaya sizes use 700c wheels.

Enjoy a long day in the saddle. Link up pavement and gravel. Hit that limestone rails-to-trails route you’ve always wanted to do. Do a light tour. Or load your panniers to the hilt for a month of two-wheeled exploring. The Vaya will get you there. And bring you back.

Vaya. A true do-it-all road-riding bike.
